Epson partners with ASEAN Fashion Designers to promote sustainable fashion

Epson, a leading name in professional printing, has teamed up with ASEAN Fashion Designers Showcase (AFDS) to advocate for sustainable fashion using innovative technology. As part of this collaboration, Epson has joined forces with seven local designers from various ASEAN countries to create a unique fashion collection centered around sustainability themes reflecting their cultural backgrounds. The complete “Sustainability in Asia” collection will debut during Epson’s LFP Innovation Day in Bangkok, with a preview at Epson Solution Centers across the region.
The designers are utilizing Epson’s dye sublimation printers, including models like SureColor SC-F6430, SureColor SC-F9430H, and SureColor SC-F10030, to produce vivid and precise color apparel pieces for their collections.
Terry Yeo, one of the designers, shares insights into his collection, “A Tiny Garden in the Big City,” which draws inspiration from Singapore’s Garden by the Bay, aiming to capture the harmony between nature and urban life while integrating sustainability by using fabrics from previous collections and upcycling suitable outfits.
Compared to conventional printing methods that require substantial water usage, digital textile printing with dye sublimation is more environmentally friendly, producing less waste and allowing for on-demand production to reduce over-production.
Derek Tan from Epson Singapore expresses excitement about collaborating with AFDS to promote sustainable digital textile printing, aligning with Epson’s commitment to developing technology solutions that enrich communities and address environmental concerns.
Hayden Ng, Premier Founder/Singapore Fashion Ambassador at AFDS, applauds the collaboration, emphasizing the designers’ shared vision for fashion and technology’s future, resulting in creative, sustainable designs that reflect each designer’s cultural heritage and commitment to zero wastage.
