The Lycra Company will officially introduce its new
Coolmax CloakFX fibre at Performance Days in Munich
from March 18 to 19. Coolmax CloakFX fibre is designed to
make garments look drier by reducing the visibility of sweat
marks while also providing moisture control and cooling
comfort. The fibre is mainly developed for high-performance
activewear and workwear, but it can also be used in every
day clothing. The technology works by diffusing light at the
fibre level through an optical masking effect, which helps
hide moisture marks and makes sweat stains less noticeable.
Since this feature is built directly into the fibre, the effect
remains effective even after repeated washing and wearing.
According to Tara Maurer-Mackay, product category
director of branded speciality products at The Lycra
Company, visible sweat on clothing is a common concern for
many consumers. It often forces them to choose between
comfort, performance, and appearance. She added that
consumers prefer fabrics that can offer all these benefits
together, and Coolmax CloakFX fibre helps garments
maintain a drier look while also keeping the wearer cool and
comfortable.
Along with its sweat-reducing appearance, the fibre can also
offer better ultraviolet protection compared to regular
polyester fibres because of its special structure and material
composition. Additionally, 93 percent of the polyester used
in this GRS-certified fibre comes from recycled sources,
supporting sustainability goals without requiring any
changes in existing manufacturing processes.
